MM-acoustics, a loudspeaker developer based in Macedonia, has introduced the latest addition to its G Series, the new G12 two-way, multipurpose loudspeaker.
The G12 is loaded with premium BMS OEM components. Low frequencies are handled by a 12-inch cone driver with a robust 4-inch voice. It has a triple demodulating ring neodymium magnet structure that helps deliver a very low level of harmonic distortion.
High frequencies are reproduced by a 1-inch-throat, 1.75-inch voice coil compression driver. A polyester annular ring cone makes it capable of handling the lower frequency spectrum with less stress than a standard dome-shaped metal diaphragm while also enhancing very high frequency “sparkle.”
Specified operating frequency range for the G12 is 60 Hz to 20 kHz, with +/- 2 dB variation from 200 Hz to 18 kHz when using the factory specified processing. Dispersion options are 90 x 40 degrees and 60 x 40 degrees.
Power handling is specified as 1,100 watts (AES), 2,200 watts (program), and 4,000 watts (peak). Peak SPL is stated as 137 dB, with average sensitivity of 100 dB (1W/1m).
Enclosures are made of premium Baltic birch plywood covered with a black textured water-based coating. Connectors are dual Neutrik Nl4 Speakons.
Eight M10 inserts are included for installation using vertical or horizontal mount brackets. The cabinet also includes a pole-mount cup for portable applications. It measures 24.6 x 13.8 x 14 inches (h x w x d) and weighs 46.4 pounds.
The G12 had its first outing—used in monitor mode and pictured below—in the promotion of Chromatic Point’s second album (voted as the number one album for 2014 in Macedonia).
